Organized criminals and appetite.

If you’ve seen any high-tech organized crime movies, there always is a part where something under high security is stolen.  Whether its a data chip, money, jewels, the movie revolves around a group of people planning to hijack the goodies. Another observation is that they get to the goods by tampering with the security precautions.

It is manly to do right, and Jesus will help you to do right, if you seek to do it because it is right. -Fundamentals of Christian Education p. 248

Good God, Bad World.

Charles Templeton, Billy Graham’s early sidekick essentially became an agnostic not being able to reconcile the idea of an all powerful God of love in the presence of pain and problems. That same question of a Good-God-bad-world still plagues many today.  One of my favorite books answers that question this way: The mysterious providence whichpermits

Unmad

There’s something that happens with age that makes it that much harder to get unmad. Theres a difference between being happy and just not mad, or unmad. I’m sure if you’re a normal person you know exactly what I mean. As children, you get disappointed frequently when parents fail to deliver on their promises to

Ride Damage Survey

iPhone Christianity

So recently, I was talking to an individual who was obsessed with acquiring this device called the iPhone 4s.  From how they raved and ranted about it, you would’ve thought it could cure cancer and solve world poverty issues.  The conversation went something like this: person: I wan’t an iPhone 4s so bad. it’s only

Blessed to be stressed.

Martin Luther is quoted as saying that if he felt too busy to spend an hour in prayer and devotion he immediately stopped everything and took two hours. Not because he was so pious or punishing himself but because he realized in the temptation to not spend that devotional time, the devil was wrestling the

Sabbath punctuality

On March 12, 2008, I blogged the following passage: A desire for God that cannot break the chains of sleep is a weak thing and will do little good for God.  The desire for God that stays far behind the Devil and the world at the beginning of the day will never catch up. — E. M.

We must remember that the goal of prayer is the ear of God. Unless that is gained, the prayer has utterly failed. The uttering of it may have kindled devotional feeling in our minds, the hearing of it may have comforted and strengthened the hearts of those with whom we have prayed, but if the prayer has not gained the heart of God, it has failed in its essential purpose. -Charles Spurgeon
